Tokyo Tsukiji Exhibition Oriental Art Museum E. Chiossone
Genoa 22/02/2019
From 22nd February to 5th May, Tokyo Tsukiji will be on show at Oriental Art Museum E. Chiossone in Genoa .
Tokyo Tsukiji is the feature I created about the largest fish market in the world.
The exhibition, edited by Aurora Canepari, director of the Oriental Art Museum E. Chiossone , and Benedetta Donato, editorial project editor, shows 28 selected photographs which depict a true story through images related to one of the most iconic places in Japan’s capital city. This place is even considered holy by Japanese restaurateurs because they saw how the fish market rose to such fame that it became one of the tourist attraction points in Tokyo, which today is sadly closed.
The aim of the exhibition is to create an interaction between photography and the most important Far Eastern art collection in Italy and one of the most important in Europe . It is a meeting of culture and tradition, coming from different and apparently distant periods, proposing a new visual journey from the ancient to the contemporary.
