MY NATURAL
SURROUNDINGS:
THE ROAD
Nicola Tanzini

About me.

I am an entrepreneur, a family man and a passionate photographer.

I was born in 1964 in Pisa, Tuscany. I discovered photography during the summer break after graduating from High School, and it was a dazzling discovery. Over the years I have developed a close and profound connection to it, even if it has been a love-hate relationship , just like all love stories are. Through photography I have improved my understanding of human nature.

My interest is in common everyday moments which allows me to explain the wonders of life that I encounter day by day in my natural surroundings: the road.

What’s in my bag.

Henri Cartier-Bresson believed that “ reportage photography needs an eye, a finger, and two legs”.

An intense perspective that I feel to be mine but that also needs the same lightness in the equipment of my everyday life. My Leica M Monochrom with 35 mm Summicron f/2, my inseparable Moleskine on which I jot down ideas and projects, 2 batteries and an abundance of memory cards. As I go out with the idea of taking a portrait, another optical reference is needed: the APO-Summicron 90 f/2 ASPH.

The travelling bag is heavier since it has room for the second set of tools: a Leica M Type 240 with 35 mm Summilux f/1,4 ASPH and the Mac for editing.
